Development projects

This departmental development projects are categorized into short-term and long-term projects.

 

1.  Short-term development project over the academic years 2010-2011.

(1)DeEnhancethe link with industry and thus update the current teaching materials.

(2)Continue to move the accreditation of engineering and technology education programs evaluated by The Institute of Engineering Education Taiwan (IEET).

(3)ImImplement the Tactic-League Education Project in central Taiwan, and strengthen the link between high schools and NCUT.

(4)UnAchieve a high ranking in teaching evaluation held by theMinistry of Education (MOE).

(5)CCarry out the Excellent Teaching Project, sponsored by MOE, aimed atthe update of teachingquality.

(6)Make regulations for academic-industrial cooperation in which faculty members are urged to get involved.

(7)StStrengthen links with local enterprises, and set up continuing education programs as an effective way to promote academic-industrial cooperation.

(8)ReMake a tight contact with alumni and pay attention to their career development meanwhile as a database for future curriculum revision.


(9)Carry on off-campus eventsto provide students with a broad and clear view of industrial sector.

(10)Recruitoverseas students to promote diversity exchange between Taiwanese and international students.

(11)Make a continuous effort to conduct pre-job and on-the-job training programs, provided by NCUT and the Bureau of Employment and Vocational Training (BEVT), so as to help students develop into technology professionalswith both theoretical backgroundand well-trained expertise.

(12) Establish part-time masterprograms inelectrical engineering to provide senior engineers or executiveswithcontinuing education.

(13)Urgestudents to takegreen technology as well as embedding system program, and cultivate the professionals required inthe fields of green technology and electrical control engineering.

(14)Develop an on-campus energy efficiencymonitoring system.

(15)Due to the concern of environmental protection, energysaving and carbon reduction, theAdvanced EV Design Center is established involving smartcontrol technology, electric and battery energy storage technology, embedded microcontrollers, motor design, servo and motion control design and CAD/CAM software.

 

2.  Medium-term development projectover the academic years 2011-2014


(1)Simplify the curriculum system: All course programs will be switched to 4-year daytime diploma program, 2-year and 4-year diploma programs for Continuing and Extension Education or 4-year diploma program for College of Continuing Education.

(2)Establish featured laboratories: Set up "Fuel Cell & Advanced Energy Storage Lab", "Health Care Aids Lab" and "Multimedia Network and Communication Lab".

(3)Enhance the international project cooperation: Promote international cooperation and intake overseas students.

(4)Host international Academic Conference related to electrical fields to boost the quality of research and school reputation.

(5)Continue to move the accreditation of engineering and technology education programs evaluated by Institute of Engineering Education Taiwan (IEET).

(6)Develop green energy technology, intelligent robots and health care aids to enhance the department's features.

(7)Strengthen the interaction and Industry-Academy Cooperation with local industries at Central Taiwan Science Park.
